Au collège:

x²-4+x=x²+x-4

il faut reconnaître le début de (a+b)²=a²+2ab+b²

(x+(1/2))²-(1/4)- 4=

(x+(1/2))²-(17/4)=

x+(1/2))²-(√17/2)²

il faut reconnaître a²-b²=(a-b)(a+b)

 x²-4+x=(x+(1-√17)/2)(x+(1+√17/2)
